{"id":474,"date":"2020-10-14T17:48:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T14:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pfh.gr\/brands\/montecristo"},"modified":"2020-10-20T16:37:55","modified_gmt":"2020-10-20T13:37:55","slug":"montecristo","status":"publish","type":"brands","link":"https:\/\/www.pfh.gr\/en\/habanos\/montecristo","title":{"rendered":"Montecristo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The name comes from the hero of Alexandre Dumas\u2019 famous novel \u2018The Count of Montecristo\u2019, which was a firm favorite when read by the Lector to the Torcedores (cigar makers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.<\/p>\n<p>The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast\u2019s needs. In 2004 the 52 ring gauge Edmundo size was introduced in recognition of the trend for heavy gauge sizes, and a shorter version, the Petit Edmundo, followed two years later. Why Edmundo? It is the first name of Edmundo Dantes, the hero of Dumas\u2019 novel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1849 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pfh.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pfh-habanos-cigars-montecristo-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pfh.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pfh-habanos-cigars-montecristo-4.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.pfh.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pfh-habanos-cigars-montecristo-4-300x260.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2009 saw the introduction of a new Series, Montecristo Open, consisting of four sizes blended to a lighter flavor than other sizes in Montecristo\u2019s range and aimed at a new generation of smokers, who enjoy the pleasures of outdoor pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>Montecristo\u2019s perfectly balanced blends are created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.
